Publishing Your Site

In order to see your files on the Web, you need to move your files to a place where your university's Web server can see them. Your university will provide the proper guidelines on where your files should reside. Talk to your university's computer accounts office for further instructions on how to publish your page. The application for sending your files to the university's Web server is called FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and different flavors of FTP software for different platforms are available. Here are the basic steps in using FTP:
