Advertising and Direct Marketing Specialist, New York University Press

NYU Press is looking for a marketing professional to develop and implement direct mail and advertising plans, and manage the budgets, for New York University Press. The Advertising and Direct Marketing Specialist will create, manage, and implement print direct marketing campaigns, and monitor and manage the seasonal and annual direct mail budgets. This position will direct and manage all direct marketing initiatives, recommend new campaigns, formats, offers, trim sizes, and production materials, as new ways to coordinate print direct marketing and e-marketing. The Specialist will also direct and manage all aspects of print advertising, including seasonal and annual ad plans, individual book and branding ads, and budgets. Also, the Specialist will manage freelance designers and ensure all advertisements and direct mail pieces are completed and mailed/delivered on time. The Specialist will analyze the performance of all promotional efforts and make recommendations to improve future campaigns. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years' book publishing and marketing experience; must include experience in either direct mail and/or advertising campaigns, preferably including academic marketing. The Specialist also represents the Press at selected academic meetings each year.
